Malaysia's team Aerobreaker proved their win in the national level competition was no fluke when they recently bagged the Fastest Car Award in the second International F1 In Schools The Formula One Technology Challenge in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
They blew away the competition when their scale model F1 car recorded a mesmerizing 1.083 seconds on a 20 metre race track, officially a new world record. This achievement is by far a significant milestone because ever since the competition’s inception, no other team has ever breached the 1.100 seconds barrier.
The competition was held at NEC Birmingham in conjunction with the Autosport International motorsport exhibition. 17 teams from 11 countries took part in this year’s international meet. Next year, the competition is slated to be held in Orlando, United States. Expect stiff competition as more countries such as Brazil, Canada and Germany are expected to take part.
